Two more weddings and an elopement left this season, then it's time to rest + shift gears for next year ✨ For those of you who don't know, this was my first full wedding season-- I'm still a total newbie in the wedding industry. So of course there were A LOT of firsts for me this year, both good and bad. Starting a business as a true introvert (you have no idea 🤣😭) is probably the dumbest thing I've ever done, but also the BEST. It truly has been a roller coaster of emotions. I'm learning that I need to give myself a little grace, which doesn't come easy to a perfectionist. I'm learning that it's okay to need help sometimes. I'm learning what I want and don't want for the future of Rooted Floral. Although, as much as I can plan for next year, who knows what it will actually look like. To anyone who has supported me along the way, THANK YOU. Cheers to not giving up yet 🥂💜
Happy first day of Fall babes 🍂
We are SO ready for chilly mornings & cozy nights.. And of course, all of Sonoma Country's beautiful Fall colors 🙌

5 Budget Friendly Wedding Tips!📜
Just a few tips which have helped me make budget friendly decisions whilst planning... 1. Hair and make up - with plenty of time leading up to the wedding for practice l, I have decided to opt for doing my own hair and asking friends to help with my make up. There are so many tutorials on YouTube or Pinterest which can help with wedding beauty; it’s worth a shot!💄 2. Save the dates - we have decided to create a digital version of our save the dates via Greeting Island. We will be sending these digitally to help save not just money but the environment too. Plus these haven’t cost us a penny! 🌍
3. Favours - although we are opting for favours, not all couples should feel these are a must! If you scrap these, hardly any of your guests will realise as most people are too caught up in the fun. We have decided to use shots as favours to our guests, however have kept costs low by creating tags and labels ourselves and have managed to find a low cost source for the shot bottles themselves; all totalling under £20 for 50 guest favours!🥃 4. Photo Booth - Although lots of companies offer some great offers on photo booths, we simply couldn’t justify the expense. Therefore, we have opted for creating our own photo booth backdrop, and have bought a Polaroid camera with 100 films which in total has cost about £100. We have also decided to tie in this photo booth idea with our guest book to help add a personal touch! 📷
5. Supermarket wedding cake - There are so many talented cake decorators which I have come across on my searches, however we have decided to opt for a supermarket wedding cake. M&S offer some amazing traditional and modern spins on wedding cakes; which all happen to taste amazing! A 4 tier wedding cake with M&S comes in at £110, all you need are some flowers to decorate!🍰 #bride#diywedding#budgetwedding#weddingday#diyhitched#weddinginspiration#weddingdecor#weddingdesign#2019wedding#2020wedding#weddingseason#bridal#bridetobe#autumnwedding#welshwedding#weddingtips
Festoons and Flourishes has come a long way in the 6 seasons we have been open. And as I prepare to have my final 2019 wedding in a few weeks, it is hard not to think back to where I started at the end of 2013.
I am not going to bore you with details of how I began (that is a story for another time), how excited I was when I was signed on to my first weddings, or how hard it has been to grow as a business and as a human at the same time.
Instead, today…on this fine Monday morning, I want each and every one of you to look back at where you started, and think about all of the hard work you have put in to get you where you are today.
No matter what industry you are in, no matter if you own your own business or work for someone else, no matter if you stay at home holding down the fort for your family, or if you are struggling to find the next step. Take a moment to remember the literal blood, sweat (so much sweat), and tears. The late nights. The early mornings. The failures. The successes. They are all there helping you along this journey…along the road of the unknown.
So as we start a new week, I beg you to begin by taking a few minutes to congratulate yourself…to celebrate being on the road less travelled.
But lovelies...only take a minute or two…because there is work to do. And it is oh so good.
