We were meant to have stir fry tonight but we had this plate of carby joy instead as we had potatoes to use up.
I know it's not a fun thing to talk about but hey ho, I have had hideous reflux today, like worse than ever and I didn't know it could get worse. It's pure acid in my mouth without warning, no burp or anything and sooo painful. I need to buy a baby changing mat I've realised and a mattress for the bedside crib as the insanely expensive crib didn't come with one 🤯
Today was the childrens christmas party through work. It was so much fun and the children and adults loved it. It was so nice to see some of the parents I hadn't had a chance to say goodbye to and have a catch up and actually say a temporary goodbye.
Next week was insanely busy for me but everyones been cancelling on me so I just have my appointment on Wednesday to discuss BJ and my sisters wedding on Friday. So plenty of time to clean and tidy and get those bloody hospital bags properly packed.

This is my favorite sandwich from there, if I'm not ordering vegan pizza from there I'm totally getting this sweet and tangy sandwich. It's mock duck covered in BBQ sauce with olives, banana peppers, and @violife_foods cheese! It's sooo good! It reminds me of my favorite pizza from there- The Rustler. (Which is mock duck, bbq sauce, banana peppers, ect)
Minnesota is so spoiled where they have seven locations, when I lived in Minnesota I was a total regular. I was so happy to be able to stop there with @joslynd94 after my plane landed in Minneapolis!
I mean, their vegan selection is awesome- and it tastes so good. It's one thing I do miss living in Colorado, but I'm so happy to get it as a special treat when I'm back in the Land of Lakes!
If you get the chance to head to Minnesota, this is a must stop for pizza! And then of course you have to head to the Herbivorous butcher shop- the first vegan butcher shop, and maybe the Mall of America to hit the the indoor amusement park. There is so much to love about my home state, I'm so happy I was able to be back for a few days!

My happy place. Fresh squeezed juice poolside 🌞 No filter here- wanted to show the gorgeous color of the juice. I juiced a mix of celery, orange, lime, cilantro, fresh coconut water and cucumber. It's the most delicious mix of sweet and tangy. Recipe inspo from @fullyrawkristina. Have to say, I'm obsessed with my new @namawell juicer!!
Back from being on the road for work means I can FINALLY make food at home 🙌
As much as I loved discovering new restaurants and health food stores in the #Ottawa area, I’m happy to be back home in my kitchen! Full disclosure though - I got home late yesterday and did NOT feel like doing groceries so I grabbed this salad at a restaurant in North Bay. (It looks like it’s just greens but I promise there’s more - chicken, purple cabbage, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, guacamole + avocado dressing. The original salad had tofu and chickpeas but I asked to sub the tofu for chicken and removed the chickpeas altogether because I haven’t reintroduced beans just yet.
If you find it difficult to eat healthy while on the road, my best advice is to PLAN AHEAD. You need to be prepared otherwise it makes it very hard to stay healthy while traveling. One easy way to do this is to bring a cooler with you and fill it with healthy food before you leave! Also use Google maps to your advantage ! ! Look at your travel route before you leave and figure out where you’ll be able to stop whether that’s grocery stores, healthy restaurants or health food stores that offer healthy food options. If you have dietary restrictions and are planning on going to restaurants, call the restaurant and find out if there’s something you can eat. Most restaurants post their menus online too. In Ottawa I went to grocery stores instead of eating breakfast at the hotel, and also went to a few awesome restaurants like @growyourrootscafe , @eatmadradish and @purekitchenottawa for salads, @wholefoods and @loblaws to stock up on food and fill up my mini fridge, and @thefuelbar for juices and smoothies. I researched these places before I left, added them in my GPS and figured out exactly when I’d be going during my week.

Chapel Arts has been through a few changes over the years but I am sold on the lovely, bright and airy atmosphere in there now 👌🏼 the location is super central and it always feels like a peaceful escape from the crowds on the streets.
100% vegan menu (swipe for breakfast menu) and a variety of different plant milks to have in your brew (v important for me). I’m not normally one for homemade beans but these were truly delicious. Tomatoey, fresh and filling. The homemade chorizo sausage was unreal and the hash browns were easily the best homemade ones I’ve ever had! The only thing missing was scrambled tofu but I would genuinely eat tofu for every meal soooo 🤷🏻♀️
Cheesy beanos with sausages. What more can you ask for?
