This was the last slide of my PhD defense.
A friend so graciously let me use a picture of her infant, and 3 women in the boot camp class I taught on Sunday mornings during my PhD let me take their pictures.
The point of this slide was to illustrate that most of us are born able to move well, and somewhere along the way many of us lose that - I want to prevent that from happening.
Everything I do professionally has always been to help people, of all ages, move better, more often, and with confidence.
I am not a “fat loss coach.” Yes, I can help you with fat loss if that is a goal of yours that will help you move better, more often and with confidence - but that is not my mission.
Physical activity and health are deep-rooted behaviors that extend far beyond pictures on social media and how much you weigh and the latest fad workout program.
It’s complicated. I spent 5 years studying it during my PhD and post doc. We have made so many advances in science, but we still have much to learn.
We still need to learn how to more effectively implement physical activity interventions to help real people - beyond publications. And that’s what I’m gonna do🤘🏽💚 #science#behavioralscientist#health#fitness#makechange#physicalactivity#healthdisparities#inspire#teach#learn#grow#plank#strong
Looking forward to weekend's plans ? Go out, have fun and be aware because we are constantly learning 💃🕺🥂 🎉. Happy #Friyay let's be #fluent4success
