i have always been both scared and comforted by the dark. what scares me and what comforts me about it, that i do not know. given the choice, i would sleep with all the lights out and a blanket over my head, blocking out all the light. darkness, for me, is warmth. a safety net. i seem to be afflicted by the opposite of claustrophobia. i seek out small, dark places for the comfort they provide to me. a closet, for instance. when it all gets too much, i climb into the closet, close the doors, snuff out any openings and free my thoughts. i try not to think of my other, imaginary fears; “there are real things to be scared about”, an adult voice in my head says. it’s my safe haven, a place which i both fear and treasure. even now, if you don’t hear from me, know where i’m seeking warmth.

... here is a little motivation to you all and I hope it gives you the ability to appreciate yourself a little more.
Stop over thinking.
Stop looking back and trying to measure where you have been or how far you have left to go.
Stop telling yourself you are not there yet, or you are not good enough.
Because right where you are in this moment - even in all this imperfections and mess and steps still let to take - is exactly where you are suppose to be.
Thousands of moments led up to this.
Hundreds of decisions and actions.
Millions of tiny thoughts and mistakes and blessings have brought you here.
AND HERE IS GOOD.
For some reason we keep telling ourselves that we are not worthy, that we have so far to go, that we will never reach this standard we hold ourselves to. But we forget that every step of the journey is part of the journey. We forget that there are going to be rough patches on the road to success, that there will be downs to each of our ups, and that sometimes we will not be moving at all, but instead standing still.
AND ALL OF THESE PLACES AND MOMENTS ARE OKAY.
Because where we are in every moment is where we are suppose to be.
We are suppose to be tired.
We are suppose to be defeated.
We are suppose to be stuck.
IT MEANS WE ARE LEARNING
we have to stop telling ourselves that we are failing. We have to stop telling ourselves that we wont make it, just because we have not yet. We have to stop telling ourselves that we are losing, because there is nothing to lose.
WE ARE ONLY GAINING - knowledge, wisdom, experience, and lessons.
Everything we go through teaches us how to survive. Every obstacle helps us learn who we are. Every painful moment breaks us, but builds us a little stronger. and little by little, we are making it through.
Stop letting yourself feel defeated and broken. You are none of those things. You are a person who is growing, changing, learning, becoming, and succeeding. And where you are right now, thats exactly where you are suppose to be.
TRUST IN THE MOMENT, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY TRUST YOURSELF. YOU ARE INCREDIBLE AND STRONG.
