🌟Saying yes more⤵️
During prep, a lot of social outings had to take a back seat. Not really in the beginning, but for sure towards the end I had to be more selfish. Food was low, output was high, and I had to be very selective with where I invested my energy. Not only that but I honestly just didn’t have the time lol. Between the gym, cardio, grocery shopping, working, trying to find time to breathe was hard enough.

I didn’t go out to eat (or rarely did) or guesstimate my macros, because I wanted to lock down as many variables as I could. That was MY choice.
And the events that I did go to, it was hard for me to be fully present, thinking about when I would be able to get my next meal or cardio session in.

No regrets though, I knew what I signed up for. Prep was my priority.

Now my energy is steadily increasing, my spark is reigning, my personality is coming back. I’m for sure NOT 100%, but I’m feeling more and more like myself each day. Yesterday was a small taste of what the freedom of improvement season has to offer.

Its hard letting go of the daily grind of prep. I thrived in the extremes, but finding my middle ground is a little harder. 
But this is the time to put the flexible in flexible dieting and live the LIFESTYLE. Y’all know I hate the word “balance” and improvement season is NOT a free for all time. I throughly enjoy tracking macros and prioritizing the gym. My fitness goals are important to me, and they always will be. But I can be strict with my goals and flexible with my methods now.
🔺I don’t HAVE to worry so much about spacing out my meals to optimize my energy
🔺Missing a lift won’t kill me
🔺I’ve weighed enough chicken and rice in my days to eyeball what 150 grams and 4 oz looks like lol
🔺I know how to create balanced meals so I can track as as I go rather than preplanning my entire day
🔺I know I will be able to take an untracked meal/days every once in a while and still reach my goals and progress in this sport.

This turned out to be WAY longer than anticipated lol, but it just feels good to be feeling good again

Heres to more social Saturdays with my bestie. Heres to all the fun trips coming up. Heres to saying yes more🌟

He says the best diet is "The Lime Diet" have I heard of it? I said no, please enlighten me.👀 He claims that his wife was classified as obese until she simply consumed one lime for breakfast with a teaspoon of honey.
He claims the lime magically melted off her fat, and this is F A C T. 
And she continued to drink coke all day and eat takeaways most nights.
Is now heavily overweight instead of obese and remains there.

OK... sure.

I believe she just reduced her calorie intake by swapping her regular breakfast for a lime and honey which contains around 50-70 calories. 
A lime with honey is not a substantial breakfast and due to being hungry and low in energy she still continued to binge on processed calorie dense foods.
Getting a few pounds off as a short time fix....and learning nothing. 🤔

My point in posting this lengthy rant is so many people unbelievably think things like this are true.

NO limes do not have magical powers to make you slim, eat a calorie controlled diet to create a slight calorie  deficit and move your body, daily. 🕺🕺 Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk....😂🕺

Personen van middelbare leeftijd en hoger kunnen door een variëteit aan factoren zich fysiek minder stabiel en zeker voelen naarmate ze ouder worden. Dit maakt onzeker waardoor deze personen nóg minder durven te ondernemen. Hierdoor neemt de fitheid nog verder af waardoor de instabiliteit en onzekerheid kunnen toenemen. En voilà... we hebben een neerwaartse spiraal te pakken. Jaarlijks valt grofweg 1 op de 3 personen op de leeftijd van 65 jaar en ouder ten minste 1 keer. We hebben het hier over het type val waar deze mensen letsel aan overhouden (denk aan gebroken heup) of zelfs aan overlijden (bijvoorbeeld alleen zijn en niet meer kunnen opstaan...). Welke risicofactoren zijn er die jouw risico op vallen vergroten? 🤭 -leeftijd; men valt meer op hogere leeftijd als gevolg van gezondheidsfactoren en (een afname van) functioneel functioneren. -Sexe; vrouwen vallen doorgaans meer dan mannen, maar bij mannen zijn de consequenties van een val ernstiger. -Spierkracht/power; een afname van kracht in vooral de benen en met name de explosieve kracht zorgt voor een verhoogd risico op vallen. Een afname van de spiermassa en -kracht als gevolg van het ouder worden, wordt sarcopenie genoemd. -Balans; niet verrassend is dat er een relatie is aangetoond tussen een verstoord balanspatroon en risico op vallen. -flexibiliteit; een verbeterde flexibiliteit in vooral de heupen en rond de enkel is cruciaal om het valrisico te verlagen. -Valhistorie; personen die (hard) gevallen zijn in het verleden hebben een verhoogd risico om opnieuw te vallen. In mijn praktijk test ik mensen op balans, flexibiliteit en kracht om het valrisico in kaart te brengen. When done enough times, it will lead to weight gain. 2️⃣ Stress causes the body to produce high levels of CORTISOL, the stress hormone😰 Higher cortisol levels also results I higher insulin level, so your blood sugar drops, causing you to CRAVE sugary foods🍭 3️⃣ Increased levels of stress generally leads to less sleep. Less sleep and chronic fatigue lead to an increase in the hunger hormone GHERLIN. I used to think being angry was a bad thing, especially as a woman.🌹
We have been taught it's not right for women to show their anger, that its not unattractive, a sign of weakness because we are the nurturers, the emotional ones. But that its ok for men to be angry because thats part of their DNA, as they are seen as the ‘protectors’.

We are only human and we have every right to express this emotion just like any other. 
When we don’t express things outwardly emotions can then become suppressed within us and build up for years.

Whether you dance, write, paint, go to the gym, do a kickboxing class all is personal choice depending on you as an individual. Just find something that allows you to release these feelings that brew inside your body so you can start to feel inner peace again.

When we feel these intense feelings its our body trying to tell us something. 
I didn’t realise until recently in a healing session that I had built up anger I was holding in my stomach (in my solar plexus).
Or maybe I wasn’t ready to acknowledge it.
This is always the part of my body I feel tenses up when I become anxious about something.
Or maybe I wasn’t ready to acknowledge it.
Often we don’t know where these feelings have come from as they have built up over time. 
For some of you who have been following me for a while you my know that I have used painting since I was 4 or 5 as a way of expressing myself and letting go of my frustration.
It’s been a powerful healing tool for me. 
But when I think back over my life I can’t think of many times where I have really lost my temper or gone completing crazy and shouted at someone. I’ve definetly felt the feeling bubbling up inside me like a lava flow ready to explode. I have always been too afraid of what others might think if I expressed who I truly felt.
This idea that I have to ‘behave’. That to be seen as kind in this world you have to be positive and content all the time but thats not reality. 
I thought people would see me as this aggressive, assertive character rather than this kind, funny and sensitive person people often describe me as.

Hello everyone! I’ve decided that next year, I’m going to study with The Institute of Health Sciences. In just 1 year, I’ll be a qualified nutrition and lifestyle coach! I’ll be able to work with individuals and help them to live a healthier lifestyle 👍🏻 and hopefully when I’m a bit older get employment in this area.

I spent nearly 2 months in hospital with severe malnutrition from Crohn’s disease and had to fast for 3 weeks to receive TPN via my veins. Weighing as little as 38kg, I had surgery to remove various parts of my damaged intestine so I could benefit from food again. It’s made me appreciate nutrition, food and being healthy so much more! Instead of feeling upset about my diagnosis, I want to do something positive😁.
