If you are a competitive CrossFit athlete, in order to perform workouts as fast as possible, kipping pull-ups (and butterfly pull-ups) are a requirement to succeed in the sport. But obviously outside of CrossFit the kipping pull-up is not necessary.
My Athletic Body Program doesn’t contain any required kipping ( it is an option but not recommended). The intention behind this particular program is to build a STRONG healthy body. To achieve optimal body composition, you do NOT need to perform kipping movements...the risk of injury far outweighs any benefits. You will find progressive overloading with pulling movements, using tempos and pauses, as well as alternatives to help you build up to doing strict pull ups. For more information, please email me through my website. There are more days then not where I am having to learn to give myself grace. To not get easily frustrated with myself or to condemn myself when I make a mistake.
I am getting to a point where I would rather try something and fail, so that I can keep trying until I get it right; than to sit back and wonder what it would be like if I had ever tried.
the Bible talks about how His mercy is new everyday, same goes for me - I am getting to a place where if I jacked something up yesterday then that was that day and today is a new day with completely knew things to learn.
I know that there will be some days that are a bit more challenging than others, but who doesn’t love a good challenge.
If I am not being challenged, then I’m not being stretched which only means that I am not growing. I never want to get to the place of such content that I stay in my comfort zone never changing and never growing.
I want to make small improvements each day, make small moves each day that will add up to winning the whole war once added together.
Basically I’m learning to play chess and not checkers.
One is a game of short and fast moves, where the other one is all about the long game.
I am in it for the long game - for the long haul, fully committed to improving and bettering myself each day, while also growing and deepening my walk with my Father.
Here’s my plan, make small improvements each day and conquering the small battles so that I can win the war.
