Feeling like one of the secret agent in the James Bond's movie tonight 💃 at The Service 1921 @anantara_chiangmai .
The land and building was originally built in 1921 by the British government and was the first location of the British consulate in Chiang Mai. Keeping its stylish British interior the restaurant is decorated with dark teak tables, a large book shelf and low lighting for a secretive feel – I have found my favourite cocktail -- Tea Time ☕️
The menus at the Service 1921 come in top secret envelopes and the menu is stamped with 'For your eyes only'. 🙈
🔥PARTNERSHIP🔥Where prayer & missions intersect •
Why is partnership so important? I believe it is one of the great longings of the human heart. Beginning with “it is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him” (Gen. 2:18) The opposite of alone, is together. “Together” gives so much courage & joy. And yes, partnership in marriage is amazing and such a profound gift , but I believe partnership is for every believer, whether married or single. Our Bridegroom King has extended an invitation to leap and skip with him on the mountains. (Song of Songs 2:8-17)
There is tremendous dignity and thrill to be on mission with God. Everything about this has made my heart come alive more than anything. It made the gospel story tangible and brought a connection between me and God. Every day I get to live on purpose. Every day I get to share in a companionships with Jesus. Every day is movement forward into my eternal destiny and purpose. This is why missions has become at the very heart of my relationship with God. It might strike different emotions for each one of us... but missions for me is an invitation from my Bridegroom King to join Him, to arise and be His partner, to see His dream of His inheritance and join His glorious cause.
Thailand day 3, Chiang Mai - Time to say bye to Dada and her funny way of repeating single words twice to attempt a full sentence - it's contagious, I already speak like her. 7am and we are already at the bus station. Suddenly, a man whistles and everybody stands up. We need a few seconds to understand what's going on then stand up too. The national anthem is quickly over and people thank us for showing respect 😊 Long bus ride from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai I am grateful to the motion sickness pill taken for breakfast. This city is lively, bigger and busier than Chiang Rai, full of temples and nice cheap places to eat. Crazy temple hopping walking everywhere and we also have a plan for tomorrow. Night market and bazar: time for mango sticky rice and live Thai music, what a dinner!
