we had a picnic this other night and I thought it would be cute if I filmed the drawing I did of them!! I love doing lil portraits like this, gives me a chance to appreciate how different every person I encounter is
I still like to start most projects with pencil and paper, it gives me a clearer perspective.
Here you can see some initial ideas I sketched on the iPad and then importing a pencil sketch to color on top of..... 🤷♂️

Pro tip❗️The easiest solution to framing artwork for me is to 1) work in standard sizes only. So I buy large sheets of paper (or use blocks) and cut them to size with my paper cutter. Then 2) I use scotch tape to secure them behind Matboard “frames”, which I buy from the Matboard Shop on Etsy. The owner was generous enough to offer my followers a 20% discount with the code “insta20”. Oh, another note! I make sure that the outer dimensions of the mats are also standard size for easy framing. Let me know if you have any questions!
Partial timelapse + progress shots of my last post. I painted this at my mom’s house, before I left last week. The night my brother died, I saw a stag on the drive home — close to the city. It felt meaningful. So i made this for my mother. (Music by #goldspot)

And so the hue BG variation has started haha - I wonder how long I’ll keep this up :D
