My first ever lesson in sketching has been that sketching is not a guessing game. You need to be aware of the 'light ' you need to be able to identify on any object the light side, the shadow side, the core shadow, direct light, reflected light and the occlusion shadow. And then set accordingly your pressure control and suitable tonalities. Man!! For the first time I realized how stupid i have been all these years to think that sketching is all about shading where ever and however you want to 😂. Most of us new learners, who are learning by ourselves just bcz we love to, make such mistakes and it's okay. Trust me the lessons you learn on your own are the finest of all lessons ;). I am mostly learning from YouTube and this https://youtu.be/-WR-FyUQc6I is where I learned my lesson about the shadows. She has a great channel for us beginner artists.🤗 and just so you know 😂, the Apple sketch still has mistakes and I need to perfect it. The second Apple was my first attempt and I made a mistake of using straight hatching instead of cross and the shadow side of the Apple is almost in the same tone as the light side 🙄 am I successful in correcting the mistake in the first Apple which was my second attempt? Please don't refrain from giving your opinion 🖤
